Military Service Academy Nominations
As a United States Senator, Senator Steve Daines takes great pride in the opportunity to nominate students from Montana to the United States Service Academies.
To apply to be considered for the Class of 2030’s Nominations, you must be:
- Between the ages of 17 and 23
- U.S. Citizen by July 1, 2025
- Unmarried, not pregnant, and without legal obligation to support children or other dependents
- Reside within the legal boundaries of Montana
*NOTE: If you are attending a service academy preparatory school, a university out of state and graduated from a Montana high school, or have recently relocated out of the U.S. due to your parents’ service in the military and maintain Montana as your permanent residence, you may still apply with the Montana delegation.
And do these two things:
1) Contact the academy directly to open a pre-candidate file. You must have an open candidate file prior to the interview in December to receive a nomination. You may do so here:
2) Apply for a nomination from the Senator to an academy. Completed applications for a nomination must be received in Senator Daines' office no later than 5 p.m. MST on November 1st with all necessary documentation. This is a firm deadline.
You are able to mail in your application materials to Senator Daines' office. However, it is highly recommended that you electronically submit as much of your application materials as you can for record-keeping purposes. If you choose to send in any materials through the mail, please mail any and all application materials to Senator Daines’ Missoula office before the deadline.

Applicants who have submitted complete applications by 5 p.m. MST on November 1st, and who are selected for an interview, will be notified of their interview date and time by email after the November 1st deadline. Interviews are conducted in Helena December, 1st - 3rd.

Resume (2 page maximum) with the following headings: Non-athletic Activities, Athletic Activities, Awards and Honors, and Employment History Copy of your official high school transcript.
