MACON, Ga. -- US Senator David Perdue (R-GA) visited Middle Georgia on August 11 to welcome the new Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex Commander.

Brigadier General Jennifer Hammerstedt was in the midstate to get a briefing on maintenance and training operations.

Perdue's wife, Bonnie Perdue, was also in attendance to meet military spouses on housing, education, and employment.

Senator Perdue is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and is from Houston County. In 2019, he helped announce a partnership between Macon-Bibb County, Central Georgia Technical College, and Robins Air Force Base to establish "Robins North" at the former Boeing manufacturing facility on Avondale Mill Rd. in south Bibb County.

“Having grown up in Warner Robins, I know how important Robins Air Force Base is to Georgia and our overall national security,” he said. “It’s no surprise that the Middle Georgia community continues to find innovative ways to support Robins’ growth. Just over a year ago, we announced a major public-private partnership to establish ‘Robins North,’ and today we’re seeing those efforts pay off. With this facility, Robins has been able to better prepare our future workforce. As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I look forward to working with General Hammerstedt and her team to continue Robins’ strong legacy of success.”
