Lankford, Inhofe Move to Rename Owasso Post Office to Honor Fallen OK Hero TSgt. Roberts

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Senators James Lankford (R-OK) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK) introduced legislation to rename an Owasso, OK, post office the ‘‘Technical Sergeant Marshal Roberts Post Office Building.” TSgt. Marshal Roberts, who was raised in Owasso was one of two Americans killed in action in an overnight rocket attack in Iraq on March 11, 2020, during his service with the 219th Engineering Installation Squadron, a unit of the 138th Fighter Wing of the Oklahoma National Guard.

“Naming a post office to honor Technical Sergeant Roberts’ heroic actions and dutiful patriotism in his hometown of Owasso will serve as a reminder to his family, friends, and service members of the ultimate sacrifice he gave on behalf of our grateful nation,” said Lankford and Inhofe.

Lankford, Inhofe, and Rep. Kevin Hern (R-OK) offered their immediate condolences to TSgt. Roberts’ family after he gave his last full measure of devotion, and Lankford gave an emotional tribute to TSgt. Roberts, his service, and his family on the Senate floor following his death. In November, Lankford attended and gave remarks at the dedication ceremony of a portion of Oklahoma State Highway 20 in Rogers County in TSgt. Roberts’ name and honor.
