OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Office of Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today released the eighth episode of Lankford’s podcast, The Breakdown with James Lankford. During the episode, Lankford explains section 232 tariffs, section 301 tariffs, trade with Canada and Mexico, and how trade with China is affecting Oklahoma companies, ranchers, and farmers.

Lankford remains engaged on trade and how the negotiations affect Oklahomans. Last week, Lankford issued a statement after the Trump Administration’s unproductive trade talks with China. Lankford introduced the bipartisan, bicameral Import Tax Relief Act to require the Executive Branch to create an exclusion process for List 3 (and any future list) of Chinese imports subject to Section 301 tariff imposition. In March, Lankford spoke on the Senate floor about international trade with China, including Section 301 tariffs. In July of 2018, Lankford released his first podcast on trade. This episode focused on trade as a whole and how the ongoing trade negotiations between America and other nations impact Oklahoma.

Lankford is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, whose primary areas of jurisdiction include: taxation and other revenue measures; bonded debt of the United States; customs; reciprocal trade agreements; tariffs; general revenue sharing; Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, TANF, and other Health and Human Services programs financed by a specific tax or trust fund; and social security.

The Breakdown with James Lankford is now available on SoundCloud, iTunes, and Spotify.
