Sen. Cruz Launches Statewide Tele-Tour Connecting With Communities Combatting COVID-19

Together, We Will #CombatCOVID19

HOUSTON, Texas - As Texans work together to confront the two crises our country is facing, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today launched a virtual statewide tour to connect with men and women on the frontlines combatting COVID-19.

"This pandemic has affected how we all live, work, and play - but it hasn't changed the fact that in times of crisis, Texans always step up to help each other," Sen. Cruz said ahead of his calls with the Texas Hospital Association and Texas Trucking Association. "Today, from my home in Houston, I'm launching a statewide tele-tour to support Texans all across the state combatting COVID-19. I'm making phone calls and participating in video conferences with officials from all levels of government, industry leaders, and those on the frontlines working to make sure our families are fed, our communities are safe, and people can access the medical treatment they need. Over the next several days and weeks, I'll be connecting with different communities to hear about the challenges they are facing and how we can move forward with a strong economy after this pandemic is defeated. Texas has always been a resilient state. While we may be separated by social distancing, we must remember we will overcome this together."

Today he spoke with the Texas Hospital Association to hear about the challenges they're facing fighting this virus. Later, he spoke with the Texas Trucking Association to hear how they are keeping supplies and food moving to all areas of the Lone Star State.
