Prayer vigil for those affected by tornado held in Marble Hill, Mo.

MARBLE HILL, Mo. (KFVS) - A prayer vigil was held Wednesday night for those affected by the early morning tornado in Bollinger County on March 5.

The prayer vigil was at Magnolia Park in Marble Hill around 6 p.m.

Dozens came together to pray and to show support for those hurting.

“To everybody that was affected by the storm, I just wanna say, you can rest assured that this community’s praying for you, and we’ve got your back, and anything that is needed, don’t hesitate to contact any church,” said Pastor Monnie Jones, of Grace Fellowship Family Worship Center. “The churches have come together, and there’s material things, it doesn’t matter whatever it is, it’ll be provided.”

Grace Fellowship handed out more than 300 care packages to those impacted.

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley toured damage in Marble Hill and Glenallen, and then met with people from the area.

At least five people are dead and multiple injured in the tornado.

According to the National Weather Service, preliminary information from the survey team shows what looks like high-end EF2 tornado damage in the Glenallen area of Bollinger County.

They said estimated peak winds at this time were 130 mph.
