Alan Dershowitz: Mueller, Comey made the Trump investigation a ‘partisan issue’

.

Lawyer and Fox News contributor Alan Dershowitz said Monday special counsel Robert Mueller and former FBI director James Comey made the investigation against President Trump political, and said people don’t want to see Trump get impeached based on partisan political motives.

“I think that both Mueller and Comey played into the hands of making this a partisan issue, and Americans do not want to see indictments or impeachments based on partisan issues,” Dershowitz told Fox News on Monday morning.

Dershowitz was responding to an Axios political reporter’s comments that Trump’s newest lawyer, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s job is to make the investigation into Russian collusion a bigger partisan issue than it already is.

He also argued that the special counsel is “the worst way of getting to the truth,” and said an independent commission would have been a better solution.
