Manchin Announces $100 Million To Complete Corridor H

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $100 million for the West Virginia Department of Transportation to complete Corridor H. As Governor, Senator Manchin made completing Corridor H a priority – opening more than half of the project during his administration – and continues to fight for funding today as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

“Corridor H was designated more than 50 years ago in West Virginia and it’s still not complete. Corridor H has been a top priority for me as a Governor and now as a Senator and I have been fighting for the funding West Virginia needs to finally complete Corridor H and I’m proud to announce $100 million today to get us one step closer. When completed, Corridor H will be used by more businesses, investors, travelers and West Virginians alike and will only impact our state for the better. Completing Corridor H is important to the economic growth and prosperity of our state,” Senator Manchin said.

In the FAST Act of 2015, the last infrastructure bill passed by Congress, Senator Manchin secured $2.3 billion in funding for West Virginia to invest in these critical projects. Today, as a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Manchin is fighting to continue funding for the U.S Department of Transportation to bring Corridor H closer to completion.  Last December, Senator Manchin announced an additional $20 million for the completion of Corridor H through a United States Department of Transportation Better Utilizing Investment to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant.
