Manchin, Capito Announce West Virginia Students Selected For 2022 Senate Youth Program

Washington, DC – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) today announced two West Virginia high school seniors, Brandon Frazier of Wayne County and Anna Walter of Jefferson County, have been selected for the 2022 U.S. Senate Youth Program. Brandon and Anna will represent West Virginia during the virtual 2022 U.S. Senate Youth Program Washington Week, which will be held March 6-9, 2022.

“Congratulations to Brandon and Anna, some of West Virginia’s brightest students who will represent our great state in the 2022 U.S. Senate Youth Program. Brandon and Anna’s dedication to their school work, extracurricular activities and community service is extremely admirable. Young leaders like Brandon and Anna are the future of West Virginia, and I look forward to meeting them virtually as part of the U.S. Senate Youth Program,” said Senator Manchin.

“Brandon and Anna have worked extremely hard and demonstrated tremendous leadership to earn this honor,” Senator Capito said. “This is an incredible opportunity that will provide Brandon and Anna with a front-row seat to the legislative process and interworking’s of the U.S. Senate. I’m proud West Virginia is being represented so strongly in such a prestigious program, and I look forward to what they will accomplish in the future.”

The U.S. Senate Youth Program Washington Week is an interactive educational and leadership forum where students attend virtual meetings and briefings with United States Senators, the President of the United States, a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and leaders of federal agencies. In addition, both students will be awarded a $10,000 college scholarship.
