Manchin Celebrates Progress On Canaan Valley Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center

Charleston, WV – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) celebrated the progress made on the new Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. Senator Manchin has advocated for federal funding to support the new visitor center and championed the efforts to create a new visitor center to welcome visitors to Canaan Valley.

“This has been a great month for conservation and outdoor recreation, first with the enactment of the Great American Outdoors Act, and now today, as we celebrate the progress that has been made on the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and toured the nearly completed facility,” said Senator Manchin. “Our public lands are what makes West Virginia Wild and Wonderful and I am so proud of everyone who helped take this dream this far.  This wonderful initiative started in 2014 and is a testament to what can happen when the government works as our partner. I look forward to seeing the Visitor Center completed soon and when it’s safe, filled with tourists who come from all over to see the beauty and wildlife in the wonderful Mountain State.”
