Manchin Meets With Over 60 Federal Agencies In West Virginia

Charleston, WV – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) met with nearly 200 representatives from over 60 federal agencies with locations in West Virginia to discuss the economic benefits of federal agencies in West Virginia and to answer any questions from the agencies. A list of the federal agencies who attended the meeting can be found here.

“West Virginia is home to over 70 federal agencies and receives over $25 billion in federal funding per year. There are over 21,000 federal workers in the state, providing vital services and research for our state and nation. Our federal agencies have had an immeasurable impact on the state’s economy and our workforce by providing stable, good-paying jobs for West Virginians. Today I met with nearly all of those federal agencies to discuss their priorities and concerns for the 117th Congress and how my staff and I can be helpful in growing their operations in the Mountain State. I believe this is the first time that this group has been assembled, and I look forward to continuing this forum. I am committed to working with each agency to ensure they are receiving the support they need and solidifying our partnerships across the state to boost our economy and bring more good-paying jobs to West Virginia,” said Senator Manchin.
