On the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Twitter was filled with messages from people remembering the victims.

One such post came from Sen. Mitt Romney’s official account, with a message recalling how at the opening ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (Romney served as president and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee), eight athletes carried an American flag that had been flying — and was buried in the rubble — at the World Trade Center.
