Florida Sen. Rick Scott is calling for transparency concerning the spread of coronavirus following the deaths of two people in Florida.

Sen. Scott earlier this week told Fox News: "We have to get more information out to people. The health and safety of Americans is the most important matter."

Scott says he's frustrated by the lack of information that has come out, especially since one of the deaths was a person from Santa Rosa County.

"I don't know to this day whether the people that were on the flight with this person, if they've been informed," Scott said. "I have asked the CDC, HHS, Homeland Security, state and local officials. Let's get this information out so people can make a good decision."

Also, in a statement released this week, Scott says: "I urged the President to make this information available for all of the virus-related deaths in the U.S."

As of Wednesday, Florida is now up to 21 cases in the state, according to the Florida Department of Health. This comes after eight new cases were announced late Tuesday.

The Florida Department of Health has a section on its website where it's tracking the positive COVID-19 cases, deaths, number of negative test results, number of pending results and number of people under public health monitoring.

The FDH includes a simple chart of Florida Residents Diagnosed in Florida.

Scott also told Fox News that he's worried about hourly workers.

"We should be all hands on deck on how do we solve the coronavirus issue," he said. "We should be telling people what have we learned that is working or not working? What are they doing in Italy working and not working? Let's focus all of our attention right now on how do we keep Americans safe and how do we keep Americans informed. That's my biggest focus."
