SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Senator Rick Scott’s proposal to prevent Congress from getting paid a government shutdown was successfully added to the government Shutdown Accountability Act on Wednesday.

Senator Scott originally co-sponsored the no budget, no pay act with Senator Mike Braun in January.

Scott says if members of Congress cannot work together to pass a budget, they should not be getting paid.
