“I Think We Ought To Do It As Quickly As We Can” Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) On Confirming Trump’s SCOTUS Nominee

Florida Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) spoke with Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson about the vacancy left on the Supreme Court by the death of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Senator Scott said,

“My belief guy is we ought to do as quickly as we can. We had to go through a normal process. how long does it take to get to the committee? And then we had to take it to the Senate floor and take a vote and. And, you know, as long as the president has somebody that that we all believe is a great candidate, which I believe he will, then they ought to be confirmed if they can if we can get confirmed before the election. I think we ought to do it as quickly as we can, but we need to go through a normal vetting process, a normal confirmation hearings. But let’s remember if if the president nominate King Solomon, the Democrats would object. This has nothing to do. This has nothing to do with the quality of a candidate. This is this has everything to do with the fact that they want their type of candidate rather than somebody. The president is going to say, we’re going to uphold the law. No, they want use the Supreme Court to be the legislature branch of government, to be the executive branch of government. They want they want the Supreme Court to be everything. And that’s not how the Constitution is set up. But the Democrats are hypocrites with regard to this. They don’t care who it is, they’re going to be against them.”
