Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida opposes what he calls a dangerous proposal driven by the radical Left.
Scott yesterday criticized calls to defund police departments around the country.
It comes as protesters in Broward County have been calling for the city of Fort Lauderdale to defund its police force.
Scott says that's not the answer.
He says defunding is part of an extremist agenda that will do nothing to keep Americans safe, and it would actually make our communities more dangerous.
