Sen. Rick Scott visited Palm Beach Synagogue on Jan. 25 for a roundtable discussion with Palm Beach Jewish leadership about antisemitism, recent synagogue attacks and ways to counter antisemitism.

Scott said that he thinks that Holocaust education must be mandatory for all children. He added that visiting Holocaust museums and hearing the stories of survivors are important tools against Holocaust denial.

The discussion also focused on what leaders of the Jewish community can do to fight antisemitism on a local and worldwide level and the importance of using media to influence opinions on the subject.

The meeting closed with Scott accepting a keynote speaker role for Palm Beach Synagogue's upcoming conference on antisemitism at The Colony, which is scheduled for March 15.
