Sens. Rick Scott, Tom Cotton & Colleagues Condemn “From the River to the Sea” Slogan as an Antisemitic Call for the Destruction of Israel

December 14, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Rick Scott joined Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas), along with 16 of their colleagues, to introduce a resolution condemning the slogan, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.” The atrocities committed by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists during their October 7th attack, and their ongoing war in Israel, have killed more than 1,400 innocent people, including at least 33 Americans, while taking hundreds of Israelis hostage, including several Americans. Senator Scott is demanding the Biden administration bring American hostages home and has been a leading supporter of Israel defending itself and destroying Hamas.

In the resolution, the senators state, “It is the sense of the Senate that the slogan ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ and its derivations are antisemitic and a call for genocide and the destruction of the Jewish state”

Cosponsoring the resolution are Senators Bill Hagerty (R-Tennessee), John Barrasso (R-Wyoming), Katie Britt (R-Alabama), Pete Ricketts (R-Nebraska), Marco Rubio (R-Florida), John Kennedy (R-Louisiana), John Boozman (R-Arkansas), Ted Budd (R-North Carolina), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), Kevin Cramer (R-North Dakota), John Thune (R-North Dakota), Deb Fischer (R-Nebraska), Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama) and James Lankford (R-Oklahoma).
