Rick Scott ‘mad’ over Biden’s criticism of Israel: ‘How does he know better?’

.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) blasted President Joe Biden’s administration for its criticism of Israel’s war strategy against Hamas, asking how the president could know better.

“Has Biden won a war? Has Biden fought in a war? No!” Scott told Fox News Sunday. “What is his background in doing this? How does he know better to go into Rafah and get rid of Hamas? He doesn’t. Makes you mad when you hear the stuff.”

In response to the Oct. 7 attacks, Israeli officials have said the next phase in the war against Hamas is to carry out a ground operation in Rafah, the southern city along the Gaza-Egypt border. While the Biden administration has offered support for Israel’s efforts to pursue the Hamas battalions stationed in Rafah, it believes a ground invasion of Rafah would pose great danger to the more than one million Palestinians who fled Gaza and have nowhere to go.

Scott recently returned from visiting Israel, where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials.

“They know that they have to go into Rafah to destroy Hamas. They have to destroy Hamas,” Scott said. “They need America’s support, but they’re going to go into Rafah to get rid of Hamas whether the U.S. supports them or not.”

While reiterating the need for the U.S. to support Israel’s Rafah mission, he also pressed for Qatar to demand that Hamas release the remaining hostages and for Iran to be “held accountable.”

“I think the Biden administration and Democrats need to change their tune. They voted against Israel aid. America didn’t even stand up for Israel at the U.N. resolution,” Scott added. “This is disgusting what the Biden administration is doing. Support Israel. They’ve got to kill Hamas. They will never get the country back.”

Scott acknowledged that Biden reportedly authorized the transfer of military equipment, including bombs and aircraft, to Israel but said more will need to be done in order to defeat Hamas.

“This is a long fight. There’s going to be a time where they’re going to need more weapons,” Scott said. “We’ve got to focus on destroying Hamas, and we also have to focus on what are we doing to get these hostages out.”
