WASHINGTON, D.C. –
U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-N.J.) today announced a total of $54,055,571 was awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to support maintenance, upgrades and improvements at airports across New Jersey. The funding was appropriated in the $1.2 trillion bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that was signed into law last month.

“I’m proud to have worked with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to secure this critical funding for our airports,” said Sen. Menendez. “From Newark Liberty to Cape May County, New Jersey’s airports are hubs for domestic and international commerce and travel, and play a major role in our state’s economy. This funding will ensure they have the resources to make the necessary upgrades and repairs they need to keep their workers and air travelers safe.”
“I was proud to vote for the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that is starting to deliver results for New Jersey, create jobs, and provide our state with the critical resources it needs to repair and enhance our crumbling infrastructure,” said Sen. Booker. “This federal funding will help airports across New Jersey improve safety operations and complete urgent maintenance projects to make sure travelers and workers are kept safe.”
The bill, which will ultimately send billions of dollars to New Jersey in federal funding, will help the state repair roads and bridges, expand mass transit, build the Gateway Project, replace water and sewer pipes and increase broadband internet access. Last month at Bloomfield Rail Station, the senators outlined how the bill will help improve New Jersey’s infrastructure.
