Scott Introduces CHOICE Act to Increase Educational Opportunity for Families Across the Nation

WASHINGTON—In conjunction with National School Choice Week and his America 2030 agenda, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) introduced the Creating Hope and Opportunity for Individuals and Communities Through Education Act (CHOICE Act).

“In every county, across every zip-code, in every state, access to quality education is the greatest gift we can pass down to the next generation. At the end of the day, it is free thought and a hunger for learning that can never be taken away from a child.

“As a part of my America 2030 agenda, I am proud to introduce a school-choice bill which ensures that our children, military families, and low-income students are fully equipped to enter the workforce and become productive members of society. I look forward to seeing the CHOICE Act passed and implemented to enrich the lives of millions of students across the country.”

Background
The CHOICE Act would give military families, families of students with disabilities, and low-income students in Washington, D.C.—together totaling more than 6.2 million students nationwide—access to greater educational opportunity.

Senators are original cosponsors of the CHOICE Act, including: Leader McConnell (KY), Chairman Alexander (TN), Sens. Boozman (AR), Cruz (TX), Cornyn (TX), Rubio (FL), Sasse (NE), Blackburn (TN), Braun (IN), and Wicker (MS).
