PHOTO RELEASE: Senator Scott Makes Opportunity Tour Stop in Iowa

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) joined U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) today for a stop on his national Opportunity Tour in Iowa. Sens. Scott and Ernst visited Des Moines and West Des Moines, including the Des Moines Dream Center and the Phenix School Apartments. 

At the Des Moines Dream Center, Sens. Scott and Ernst joined a discussion to address immediate and long-term needs in the areas of homelessness, youth development, poverty and outreach. 

They also stopped at the West Des Moines Phenix School Apartments where they were able to tour the building and learn about the mixed-income apartment building for artists currently under construction in the West Des Moines historic Valley Junction neighborhood. The day concluded with a roundtable discussion with local business owners and residents.

This was Senator Scott’s 6th stop on his national Opportunity Tour, with previous stops in South Carolina, Florida, Washington, DC, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
