Hello everyone,
This Thursday, over 39 million American families will begin receiving advance monthly Child Tax Credit payments. In Colorado, these payments will benefit 96% of families with kids and lift 57,000 Colorado children out of poverty.
The expanded Child Tax Credit is the most significant investment the federal government has made in American families and children in decades. I have been working on this policy for several years, and I could not be more thrilled that this moment has finally arrived. It will make a huge difference in the lives of millions of children across our country.
On Monday at 5:00pm MT, I will host a telephone town hall to discuss the newly expanded Child Tax Credit and answer your questions about it, including how to find out if you’re eligible and what you need to do to receive the payments. I will also be joined by George Welsh, the Superintendent of the Cañon City School District, and Tracy Dorland, the Superintendent of the Jeffco Public School District, to discuss how these payments will set up Colorado kids for success. John Stanley, a tax expert, will also be on hand to answer your questions.
