Coloradans: Join My Telephone Town Hall

Image

What’s happening: On Monday, March 3rd, at 5:30 PM MT, I will be hosting a telephone town hall. All Coloradans are welcome, and you can sign up and submit questions ahead of time here.

What I believe:
My favorite part of my job is speaking with constituents about the issues that matter to them. I look forward to hearing what is on Coloradans’ minds and how we can work together to make our state a better place to live and work.

2. Protecting Colorado’s Public Lands for Future Generations

What I believe: Colorado’s public lands do more than fuel our economy – they are a cornerstone of our way of life. We must do everything we can to preserve them for future generations.

This week:
Alongside my Colorado colleagues, I reintroduced the Colorado Outdoor Recreation and Economy (CORE) Act. Our bill will protect approximately 420,000 acres of public land in Colorado, establish new wilderness areas, and safeguard existing outdoor recreation opportunities to boost our state’s economy.

More information:
The CORE Act is the result of years of conversation and compromise to boost our economy and protect our public lands. This week, I spoke with Denver-based creator Lily Urmann about this important bill and what else I’m doing to protect our state’s incredible natural resources and landscapes. Watch our full conversation here

3. Sharing Important Resources for Colorado’s Federal Workers

What’s happening: I hear every day from members of our federal civil service who are confronting chaos and confusion sown by the Trump Administration. I am outraged by these attacks on the federal workforce, and I am committed to using every tool at my disposal to protect Colorado’s federal workers.

In case you missed it: I have repeatedly spoken out against the Trump Administration’s targeting of federal workers. Last week, on the Senate floor, I spoke out against the threats posed to our state and country by the mass termination of U.S. Forest Service employees. I have urged the Trump Administration to reinstate terminated employees from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and more.

What I did: As I continue to do everything I can to push back on the Trump Administration’s shortsighted efforts, I launched a new webpage this week with helpful resources for affected federal workers.

4. IN THE NEWS THIS WEEK

  • Applications are now open to attend the 2025 Colorado Capital Conference. Each year, this event is an opportunity for Coloradans to connect with our country’s leaders and share ideas to make our state stronger. Apply here by the March 21 deadline.
  • This week, I introduced a bipartisan bill to advocate for Denver’s Ed Dwight – America's first Black astronaut candidate – to receive a Congressional Gold Medal. Ed is one of our country’s greatest living legends and he deserves the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. Congress.
  • I was glad to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron to the Senate this week. We must continue working with France and our global allies to support Ukraine’s brave fight against Putin's aggression.
