Join Me, Senator Jon Tester, and End Citizens United for a Town Hall

What’s happening: On Wednesday, May 28, at 3:00 PM, I will host a town hall with my friend Jon Tester at the University of Denver to discuss how corruption in Washington affects Coloradans.
How to sign up: Please register here to attend the town hall at the University of Denver. On the day before the event, you will receive a confirmation email with the event location and entry details. If you can’t join us in person, the town halls will be livestreamed on my Facebook page here.
What I believe: The best part of my job is speaking with Coloradans about the issues that matter to them. We have seen rampant corruption in the highest levels of government that can no longer go unchecked. I will continue fighting to restore Coloradans’ trust in our political institutions.
2. Fighting Corruption in the Trump Administration

What’s happening: Too many elected officials are using their office to advance their own career interests and fatten their wallets. This week alone, Trump officials modified intelligence reports, illegally accepted a plane from Qatar, and Trump himself hosted a dinner for potential investors in his own memecoin.
What I did: I introduced the STABLE GENIUS Act to prevent elected officials and federal candidates from issuing or endorsing digital assets. Additionally, I reintroduced the Close the Revolving Door Act and the ZOMBIE Act. It’s time we shut the revolving door of influence in Washington. These bills would ban members of Congress from ever becoming lobbyists and require politicians to close their campaign accounts when they are no longer running for office before registering as a lobbyist.
What I believe: President Trump claims to be working to lower costs and make life easier for Coloradans and the rest of the country, but in reality, his priorities are his own interests and those of his billionaire friends. I won’t stand for it and will continue to introduce legislation that holds politicians accountable.
3. Thankful For Our Service Members

What’s happening: On Monday, May 26, we celebrate Memorial Day and honor veterans and active duty service members.
What I believe: America’s Memorial Day is an opportunity to honor those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. We should never take for granted the commitment and sacrifices that service members and their families have made.
4. IN THE NEWS THIS WEEK
- Congratulations to Thornton teacher Michelle Pearson for her induction into the National Teacher Hall of Fame. As a former Superintendent, I know that your passion for teaching will stay with your students for years to come.
- My GORP Act included bipartisan support when I reintroduced it in the Senate. This legislation has been over a decade in the making and is critical for the protection of Colorado’s public lands.
- In the wake of the United States losing its AAA credit rating, I questioned Billy Long, President Trump’s IRS Commissioner nominee. I will always demand accountability from our country’s highest leaders, no matter who is president.
