Hey, time for my highs and lows! I was honored this week to have Senator Kelly from Arizona with me at UVU for a CNN townhall on Wednesday. He helped me with highs and lows for this week.

Senator Kelly: Well, it's great to be here. And I'd say one of the highs is we got to have a discussion in front of a large group of students about political discourse and rhetoric, and how we bring this country together.

Senator Curtis: Clearly the high. The low would be that in so many places around the country, this isn't happening. We need to figure out how to do this more often. Thanks for joining me and hope you all had a great week.

At a CNN townhall at Utah Valley University, Senators Curtis and Kelly urged Americans to lower political tensions and introduced critical social media reforms. Reflecting on the recent shooting of Charlie Kirk and other high-profile attacks, Senator Curtis warned, “If it can happen here in Utah, it can happen anywhere,” calling for the tempering of political tensions from both sides of the aisle.

On Monday, Senator Curtis shared the following statement after voting to end the government shutdown and advance key appropriations bills:

Today, I voted to end the longest government shutdown in our nation’s history and advance critical annual appropriations for Agriculture, Rural Development, the Food and Drug Administration, Military Construction, and Veterans Affairs. The legislation now moves to the U.S. House of Representatives. If passed in its current form, it will head to the President’s desk for passage.

Utahns expect much more from the federal government. We’ve budgeted properly only four times in the last 51 years. It’s time for a better way.

I am committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to develop a lasting solution that ensures neither party can repeat this cycle.

Navigating immigration paperwork can often feel overwhelming and uncertain. One constituent recently reached out to Senator Curtis’ office for help resolving a pending application, and thanks to timely support from our team, they were able to receive the documentation needed to move forward. With their permission, we’re sharing their story to highlight how our office helps Utahns stay on track through complex immigration processes.

If you can't get an answer from a federal agency in a timely fashion, or if you feel you have been treated unfairly, our office may be able to help resolve a problem or get you the information you need. While we cannot guarantee you a favorable outcome, we will do our best to help you receive a fair and timely response to your problem.
