On Monday, Senator Curtis shared the following statement after voting to end the government shutdown and advance key appropriations bills:
Today, I voted to end the longest government shutdown in our nation’s history and advance critical annual appropriations for Agriculture, Rural Development, the Food and Drug Administration, Military Construction, and Veterans Affairs. The legislation now moves to the U.S. House of Representatives. If passed in its current form, it will head to the President’s desk for passage.
Utahns expect much more from the federal government. We’ve budgeted properly only four times in the last 51 years. It’s time for a better way.
I am committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to develop a lasting solution that ensures neither party can repeat this cycle.
Senator Curtis participated in West Valley City’s Veterans Day event, honoring veterans and recognizing their service and sacrifice.
Senator Curtis shared the following video statement in honor of Veterans Day and Utah’s Honor Flight veterans:
On this Veterans Day, I am grateful to our veterans from Utah who traveled to Washington, D.C. last week on an Honor Flight. Their selfless service, dedication, and sacrifice have safeguarded our freedoms and inspired our nation.
