Hey, I’m here for my high and low, and I’ve invited a special guest—Max. He’s part of my high and low because he is my high and low. For the last number of months, he's the guy who's been responsible for getting me from every single thing I do to the next thing I do, to making sure that I'm safe, to making sure I have what I need.

My low is that he’s leaving that position, and he’s been so great. My high is that he got a promotion here in my office, and he’ll be helping on the legislative team. So congratulations, Max, on your promotion. And somehow, we’re going to figure out how to replace you.

Senators Curtis and Shaheen (D-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released the following statement as the United States hosts a Critical Minerals Ministerial. The Senators urge their colleagues to support legislation which directs the U.S. government to work with trusted international partners to develop secure, reliable and transparent supply chains for critical minerals by authorizing U.S. participation in the Minerals Security Partnership.

It is unacceptable for America’s economic well-being and national security to be at the whim of China due to their overwhelming control of critical minerals supply chains. We welcome Secretary Rubio hosting a ministerial meeting to address this challenge and deepen partnerships with like-minded countries. The United States cannot solve the critical minerals challenge alone and we will be unable to counter PRC dominance over critical mineral supply chains without trusted allies and partners.

That is why we urge Congress to pass our legislation that would codify U.S. participation in the Minerals Security Partnership to better coordinate the mining, processing, and recycling of critical minerals. Our legislation provides a bipartisan signal that the United States Congress wants to work with its allies and partners in securing these strategic assets to protect our collective economic and national security.

The Moab UMTRA Project Transition Act advanced unanimously through the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, marking a key step toward transferring the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action site to Grand County following completion of cleanup and remediation. Following the Committee’s action, Senator Curtis issued the statement below:

The Committee’s action today is the result of years of steady, bipartisan work and close collaboration with local leaders, community members, and federal agencies. The Moab UMTRA site has been the focus of one of the most significant environmental cleanups in the country, and as that work nears completion, it’s essential that we plan responsibly for the future. This legislation ensures the land can be safely transferred and that Grand County—not Washington—is empowered to decide what comes next. That local control is the heart of this bill.

The post was blatantly racist and inexcusable. It should never have been posted or left published for so long.

When IRS refunds go missing, it can be difficult to get answers directly. One Utah family had their refund check returned to the IRS after an address issue and struggled to resolve it on their own. After contacting Senator Curtis’ office, our casework team stepped in, stayed engaged even through a government shutdown and helped ensure the refund was finally delivered. With their permission, we’re sharing their story to show how our office helps constituents resolve IRS issues.

If you can't get an answer from a federal agency in a timely fashion, or if you feel you have been treated unfairly, our office may be able to help resolve a problem or get you the information you need. While we cannot guarantee you a favorable outcome, we will do our best to help you receive a fair and timely response to your problem.
