#EMPOWER
California
Friend,
Six
months
into
the
year,
Senator
Harris
continues
her
steadfast
fight
for
the
40
million
Californian
residents,
and
Americans
across
the
country.
Recently,
Senator
Harris
held
her
largest
town
hall
at St.
Genevieve
Parish
Church
and
Schools in
the
San
Fernando
Valley
where
she
listened
to
ideas
from
community
and
student
leaders.
Some
issues
discussed
included
reforming
our
country’s
immigration
and
criminal
justice
system,
access
to
health
care,
gun
violence,
and
the
environment.
"There
are
so
many
more
issues
to
discuss
and
we
will
keep
having
these
conversations," said
Senator
Harris.
"I
do
these
town
halls
because
this
is
exactly
what
I
want
to
do.
I
need
to
be
here
accountable
to
you,
I
need
to
be
here
and
listen,
and
be
present
and
that’s
why
I’m
here."

Last

the
Ending

Monopoly
of
Power
Over
Workplace
harassment
through
Education
and
Reporting
Act
(EMPOWER)
to
address
the
ongoing
issue
of
workplace
harassment
and
the
pervasive
culture
of
fear
that
has
resulted
from
those
in
power
silencing
their
victims. This
comprehensive,
bipartisan
bill
will
empower
victims
to
speak
out
and
seek
justice,
put
companies
on
notice
that
they
can
no
longer
financially
protect
harassers
in
secret,
and
arm
individuals
with
the
resources
they
need
to
address
systemic
workplace
harassment.
This
includes
prohibiting
non-disclosure
and
non-disparagement
clauses
(NDAs)
that
employers
have
required
individuals
to
sign
as
a
condition
of
receiving
the
job
-
which
has
perpetuated
a
culture
of
silence.
The
EMPOWER
Act
has
received
support
from
over
a
dozen
civil
rights

women’s
