On
the
Road
Roane
County
Last
week
I
visited
Roane
County
Family
Health
Care
to
talk
about
common
sense
healthcare
solutions.
In
the
evening
I
joined
the
Roane
County
Chamber
of
Commerce to
talk
about
jobs
and
opportunity.
We
were
honored
to
be
joined
by members
of
the
Roane
County
High
School
Band.
Spencer
and
Grantsville
visits
I
stopped
by
the
Grantsville
and
Spencer
locations
of
Hardman's
Hardware
last
week
to
congratulate
them
on
110
years
of
business.
It's
local
businesses
like
Hardman's
that
drive
our
local
and
state
economies
and
keep
our
communities
strong.
WV
Chamber
of
Commerce
Business
Summit
I
was
honored
to
join
the
West
Virginia
Chamber
of
Commerce last
week at
their
annual
Business
Summit
today
to
talk
about
the
need
for
bipartisan
tax
reform
and
how
special
our
state
is.
Disaster
Recovery
Centers
Following
the
recent
disaster
declaration,
FEMA has
opened three
Disaster
Recovery
Centers
in
West
Virginia.
Volunteers
and
agency
officials
are
on
hand
to
answer
questions
about
disaster
assistance.
If
you
were
impacted
by
the
recent
flooding,
I
encourage
you
to
visit
one
of
these
locations:

Spotlight
Bluefield
Cool
and
Connected
Broadband
I
was
proud
to
announce
last
week
that the
Appalachian
Regional
Commission
(ARC)
awarded
a
total
of
$15,000
to
the
City
of
Bluefield
for
the
Bluefield
Cool
and
Connected
Broadband
Program.
The
funding
will
support
the
development
of
a
mobile
app
that
will
be
used
to
promote
the
City
of
Bluefield.
The
app
will
support
the
Millennial
Ambassador
Program
for
high
school
and
college
students,
link
to
the
website
promoting
city
activities,
assist
with
tourist
attractions
and
assist
businesses
with
an
inventory
of
available
space
to
market.
I’m
excited
to
see
initiatives
like
Bluefield
Cool
and
Connected
Broadband
sprouting
up
across
West
Virginia.
West
Virginia
has
so
much
to
offer
and
creative
ideas
like
this
will
help
us
show
the
world
just
that.
I
applaud
the
City
of
Bluefield
for
having
the
foresight
to
develop
a
mobile
app
and
ARC
for
supporting
this
local
project.
