On the Road

I spent last Wednesday in the Eastern Panhandle where I spoke at the Eastern WV Community Foundation Luncheon. I also met with members of Martinsburg City Hall in regard to the work on the water facility plant. I then toured the Chem-Pak facility and the Berkeley County Day Report Center in Martinsburg, and I ended the day at Wildwood Middle School in Jefferson County where I met with students participating in the Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle's Students Against Destructive Decisions chapter. I enjoyed hearing their perspectives on substance abuse and other issues, and am grateful for their questions and ideas.

After attending Senator McCain's memorial in Arizona, I ended the week at the Italian Heritage Festival in beautiful Clarksburg. It is always a pleasure to see my fellow West Virginians and those who travelled from across the nation to celebrate this area's unique Italian heritage.

How May We Help You?

I truly appreciate the opportunity to hear from my fellow West Virginians. As your U.S. Senator, I am proud to be your voice with government agencies during your time of need. My goal is to provide top-notch customer service for every West Virginian who contacts me, or who may need help.  I have a team of caseworkers in each of my four offices to help you with matters of concern. While I have no direct jurisdiction in the administrative matters of any federal, state, or local agency, I welcome the opportunity to assist you with whatever problem you may be experiencing and ask that full consideration be given to your case.

Recently, Amber McCartney assisted Korean War Veteran, Mr. William Hudson in obtaining his Battle Star that was to accompany his Korean Service Medal.  Amber coordinated with the National Personnel Records Center and the U.S. Navy to ensure that Mr. Hudson received the Battle Star that he so deserved.  Our veterans have provided an irreplaceable service to our great state and nation, and we are all indebted to these brave men and women whose sacrifices help preserve the freedoms that we hold so dear.  I stand clear in my commitment to serve those who served this country so bravely, and who continue to give back to our communities.
