Congratulations to Thomas Health on the reopening of their emergency department at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston. Here in our home state the need for accessible care is vital. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, and they’re what drive me every day to ensure our home state gets its fair share of federal funding so they can continue to provide the quality healthcare West Virginians deserve.

Hoppy loved Kanawha County, and his decades of dedicated public service will have a lasting impact on our state. Please join Gayle and I in praying for his family, friends, and his Kanawha County Commission colleagues as they mourn this incredible loss.

Mr. William Stump of Mac Arthur, WV contacted my office requesting assistance with his Black Lung benefits. Mr. Stump had filed an appeal with the Department of Labor about five times prior to contacting my office. With the help of my inquiry, the Administrative Law Judge ruled that Mr. Stump will be issued his long overdue Black Lung benefits, back-pay, and medical benefits.
