$2.4 MILLION FOR LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND PROJECTS IN WEST VIRGINIA
Thanks to the Great American Outdoors Act of 2020, West Virginia will receive $2.4 million for recreation and restoration projects in state and local parks. This funding was secured when Chairman Manchin’s historic Great American Outdoors Act was enacted in 2020, which made permanent full and mandatory annual funding of $900 million for the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

HEALTH INSURANCE COVERS AT-HOME COVID-19 TESTS
While you can no longer get free COVID-19 test kits from the federal government, if you have health insurance, you’re covered for 8 free over-the-counter, at-home COVID-19 tests each month. If you have health insurance through your employer, or if you have a plan through the Affordable Care Act’s marketplace, each person on your plan can get 8 tests per month. If you’re on Medicare, you’re also covered for 8 free over-the-counter COVID-19 tests each month.

Over the weekend, my staff attended the annual Oglebayfest fall celebration, presented by WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and Reynolds Memorial Hospital. The event features regional foods, artisans, animals and activities for all ages. Oglebayfest is a great showcase of Wheeling and our West Virginia culture and traditions. |

Kelli was having issues getting her 2020 tax return. After repeated attempts, she had not gotten a firm answer regarding the timeframe in which it would be processed. After an inquiry from my staff, Kelli and her husband received notice that their return had been processed.

Hope.

SBA DISASTER ASSISTANCE
Those affected by severe storms and flooding on May 6th are eligible to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Businesses and residents in Cabell, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam and Wayne County in West Virginia; and Gallia and Lawrence in Ohio are encouraged to apply. Applications for physical damage close on Nov 14th and economic injury on June 15th.
