October is great for aviation history! 2022 Marks the 75th anniversary of the date when U.S. Air Force Capt. Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager became the first human to fly faster than the speed of sound. Chuck was a Mountain State native raised in Lincoln County and a true embodiment of the West Virginia spirit. |

Mr. Lipton from Kanawha County contacted my office for assistance when luggage containing his musical instruments and gear had been lost in transit to Europe. After contacting my office, my staff was able to locate the luggage and have it safely returned to the United States. |

HEALTH INSURANCE COVERS AT-HOME COVID-19 TESTS
While you can no longer get free COVID-19 test kits from the federal government, if you have health insurance, you’re covered for 8 free over-the-counter, at-home COVID-19 tests each month. If you have health insurance through your employer, or if you have a plan through the Affordable Care Act’s marketplace, each person on your plan can get 8 tests per month. If you’re on Medicare, you’re also covered for 8 free over-the-counter COVID-19 tests each month.

SBA DISASTER ASSISTANCE
Those affected by severe storms and flooding on May 6th are eligible to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Businesses and residents in Cabell, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam and Wayne County in West Virginia; and Gallia and Lawrence in Ohio are encouraged to apply. Applications for physical damage close on Nov 14th and economic injury on June 15th.
