ADDITION OF NEW LAND AT NEW RIVER GORGE NATIONAL PARK AND PRESERVE
Manchin applauded the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve’s announcement that 45 acres of preserve land has been added to America’s newest National Park. As Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Senator Manchin secured designation of New River Gorge as a National Park and Preserve in 2020 and continues to advocate for further resources.

Mr. Baker of Martinsburg contacted my office for assistance with his efforts to be reinstated on the kidney transplant list. A test was needed to maintain his eligibility, but his case with the VA hospital was made inactive. After an inquiry from my office, the VA updated the record that reinstated his eligibility. |

SUMMER STUDY PROGRAMS - The Appalachian Regional Commission is accepting applications for two summer study two summer study opportunities: the Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy (AEA) and the Appalachian STEM Academy at Oak Ridge. Both programs, planned for summer 2023, are free intensive learning experiences specifically for the Appalachian Region’s high school and/or middle school students and teachers.
