CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED SPENDING REQUESTS

Senator Manchin is once again inviting state and local governments, non-profits, public entities, and other organizations to submit their requests for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 appropriations process. The Senate Appropriations Committee helps write legislation to allocate federal funds to government agencies, departments and organizations on an annual basis.

MANCHIN, CAPITO INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING RUSSIAN WAR IN UKRAINE AS GENOCIDE

Last week, I had the opportunity to meet West Virginia National Guard soldiers and airmen at the U.S. Capitol and thank them for their service to our state and our nation. The Mountain State is proud to have the best National Guard in the country!

Mr. Hebb from Philippi contacted my office for assistance with the processing of his military retirement benefits. It had been several years since he'd begun the process. After an inquiry from my office, his retirement benefits were processed.

HEALTH CARE FOR VETERANS - Medical Foster Homes are private residences where the caregiver and relief caregivers provide care and supervision 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A Medical Foster Home can serve as an alternative to a nursing home. Click here to learn more about the program. POWER INITIATIVE - Appalachian Regional Commission is making up to $65 million available to leverage entrepreneurship, workforce development, infrastructure, agriculture, and other projects to enhance job training and reemployment opportunities, create jobs in existing or new industries, and attract new sources of private investment in coal-impacted communities. STAFFING FOR ADEQUATE FIRE AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE (SAFER) - Created to provide funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to help them increase or maintain the number of trained, "front line" firefighters available in their communities.
