I was honored to join President Brad Smith and President Gordon Gee for the Focus Forward With Big Energy conference in Morgantown. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, West Virginia is poised to remain America’s Energy Powerhouse through historic investments in energy innovation.

I visited Hinton for the groundbreaking of the Hinton Landing development project, which will help showcase our beautiful state to the world while preserving Hinton's rich history. I was proud to secure $500,000 for this project through Congressionally Directed Spending.

I visited Summers County to celebrate the addition of nearly 1,000 acres to the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. I commend The Conservation Fund for its work to ensure this historic and culturally significant piece of land is protected for future generations.

Our youth are being exposed to more dangerous drugs than ever before, and GameChanger is working to reach West Virginia kids and warn about the dangers of drugs. I’m proud of these young West Virginians for getting involved with GameChanger and spreading the word that “One Pill Can Kill.”

I visited my alma mater to meet with WVU students as part of the Mountaineer Fentanyl Education Task Force. Thank you, U.S. Attorney Bill Ihlenfeld and Azeem Khan for your leadership in fighting the drug epidemic and bringing attention to youth mental health.

Mayor Keadle contacted my office asking for assistance with the sam.gov account renewal for the Town of Romney. They had filed the renewal but had been unable to correct an issue with the type of account they were trying to renew. As a result of an inquiry from my office to the General Services Administration, the Town's correct sam.gov account was successfully renewed.
