MANCHIN RAISES CONCERNS OVER EPA’S PROPOSED EMISSION STANDARDS FOR COKE PLANTS

"EPA's proposals introduce new and unwarranted regulatory demands on coke production, which would harm employment prospects in West Virginia, the viability of coke production for the sole two U.S.-based steel blast furnace operators, and the local steel industry crucial for electric vehicles, pipelines, infrastructure growth, solar panels, geothermal plants, and other vital sectors."

Evelyn from Washington requested assistance with her supplemental claim to receive burial assistance for a Veteran who had been in her care for over 20 years. As a result of an inquiry from my office to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, she was granted burial assistance.

RESULTS FELLOWSHIP - Every year, a cohort of activists ages 20-35 comes together to form the RESULTS Fellowship. These young leaders spend 11 months growing their advocacy skills to end poverty and oppression. Applications for the 2024 cohort will be accepted until October 31st.

HEALTH INSURANCE OPTIONS - Health Insurance Marketplace open enrollment for the 2024 calendar year begins November 1st. Enroll by December 15th for coverage that starts on January 1st. Visit Healthcare.gov or call 1-800-318-2596 for more information. Those who no longer qualify for Medicaid and CHIP can turn to the Marketplace for insurance coverage.

The open enrollment period for Medicare is now through December 7th. Find information and compare plans at Medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE. Medicare will never call you unexpectedly or ask for personal information. Learn more about how to avoid Medicare enrollment scams
