MANCHIN APPLAUDS MONONGAHELA NATIONAL FOREST FOR SAVING CHRISTMAS AT THE WHITE HOUSE

"I'm so proud Monongahela National Forest is now providing both the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree and the National Christmas Tree this year. These tree lighting celebrations are wonderful traditions that bring our great country together, and West Virginia’s role this year will be absolutely historic."

Employees at both the White House and the U.S. Capitol are busy this weekend decorating their West Virginia-grown Christmas trees harvested from Monongahela National Forest!

Lighting of the National Christmas Tree at the White House will take place on November 30th. CBS Network will broadcast the National Christmas Tree Lighting special on December 15th at 8 p.m. The National Christmas Tree is free to visit and open to the public from December 2nd through January 1st.

The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree has been delivered to the West Front Lawn of the United States Capitol. Lighting will take place on November 28th at 5 p.m. You can watch in-person at the U.S. Capitol (no tickets needed) or live on C-SPAN.
