West Virginia’s own U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will be lit for the holiday season! 

The lighting of the tree, a time-honored tradition of more than 50 years, will take place today during a ceremony on the West Front Lawn beginning at 5 p.m. The tree will then be lit from dusk until 11 p.m. each evening through January 1st.

The ceremony is open to the public and tickets are not required. Check C-SPAN schedules for additional event coverage. 

Lighting of the National Christmas Tree at the White House will take place on November 30th. CBS Network will broadcast the National Christmas Tree Lighting special on December 15th at 8 p.m. The National Christmas Tree is free to visit and open to the public from December 2nd through January 1st.

HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT - Health Insurance Marketplace open enrollment for the 2024 calendar year begins November 1st. Enroll by December 15th for coverage that starts on January 1st. Visit Healthcare.gov or call 1-800-318-2596 for more information. Those who no longer qualify for Medicaid and CHIP can turn to the Marketplace for insurance coverage.

The open enrollment period for Medicare is now through December 7th. Find information and compare plans at Medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE.

Loetta of Liberty contacted my office for assistance in securing survivor benefits following her husband's passing. As a result of an inquiry from my office to the Social Security Administration, Loetta's overdue payments and benefits were processed.
