A LOOK BACK AT OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN WASHINGTON AND ACROSS THE STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA IN 2023

"I’m incredibly proud of everything we have accomplished this past year
for West Virginia and the entire United States."

West Virginia received $20,731,406,457 in fiscal year 2023 to support the state’s priorities, communities, and families. This includes $122 million in Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) requests that Senator Manchin secured on behalf of West Virginia through the funding bills from fiscal years 2022 and 2023.

"Throughout the 118th Congress, I’ve focused on ensuring American energy independence and security, addressing the national debt, standing up to partisan political agendas and securing the Southern border. A lot of progress was made, but we have a lot to work to do this year."

As Chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Senator Manchin lead a number of initiatives that will have a direct impact on the lives of West Virginians and Americans nationwide, including securing the completion of the Mountain Valley Pipeline, bringing a $900 million Hydrogen Hub to Appalachia and reducing our reliance on foreign supply chains by ensuring the Inflation Reduction Act is implemented as written.

MANCHIN STATEMENT ON MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY

"Dr. King gave us a vision of what America could be when we work together toward a common good. His commitment to opportunity, justice and equality has inspired generations of leaders. My grandparents taught me that if you can count your blessing, you can share your blessings, and today, Gayle and I encourage all West Virginians and Americans to remember Dr. King’s legacy by supporting our fellow citizens."
