The Senate's failure to pass commonsense legislation to secure our border because of politics reaffirms why I did not run for reelection. 18,000 Border Patrol agents said this bill would have helped them do their jobs. It's time to put our country before toxic partisan politics.

MANCHIN STATEMENT ON U.S. ECONOMIC OUTLOOK REPORT FOR THE NEXT TEN YEARS
The report estimates that our federal debt will reach $54.3 trillion in ten years – about $20 trillion more than it is today. To put that staggering number into context, that essentially means every person in the United States would be responsible for shouldering $162,000 as their share of that debt. This is simply unsustainable for maintaining America’s economic security and leadership on the global stage. Given the enormity of this crisis, continuing to turn a blind eye will only put the American Dream further out of reach for future generations.

The U.S. Postal Service will hold a public meeting at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center on Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend, please use the comment form below.
While I’m encouraged to see the USPS plans to invest more federal resources in the Charleston postal facility, I share concerns with the America Postal Workers Union about potential job losses larger than those forecasted in the initial findings.
I urge every West Virginian, regardless of their location, to submit a public comment to the USPS to voice their support.
