MANCHIN CELEBRATES BEGINNING OF GAS FLOWING THROUGH MOUNTAIN VALLEY PIPELINE

"Since our state's founding in 1863, West Virginians have stepped forward time and again for causes greater than ourselves. With the Mountain Valley Pipeline officially in service, we are continuing to fulfill that legacy. And it's been said, build it and they will come. In West Virginia, we have the ability to produce and to transport and be able to deliver the best, cleanest energy and technology that we have today to create more opportunities."

WEST VIRGINIA DAY

Here in West Virginia, we are fortunate to have a proud story of history and culture. Our state's seal displays the phrase we all know and love: "Mountaineers are always free." It is a motto that symbolizes the foundation of our state and captures the strength and endurance of West Virginians that still rings true to this day.

Today, we commemorate the 161st anniversary of our beloved home state's admission to the Union. West Virginia Day is a wonderful opportunity to gather together in our communities with our loved ones, friends and neighbors to remember the values that make this state so grand.

Boys State / Girls State

I was proud to address West Virginia’s leaders of tomorrow at the 85th American Legion Mountaineer Boys State and at Rhododendron Girls State. These young men and women are among the best and brightest in our state, and I look forward to seeing the great things they accomplish!

Janel, from Fayette County, contacted my office for assistance with her Social Security Disability claim. While the claim was pending, her medical conditions worsened, and she was ordered not to work. As a result of an inquiry from my office to the Social Security Administration, Janel’s claim was granted.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance with a state or federal agency, please contact my office at 304-342-5855.
