Anderson Vet

Sergeant William Anderson is a Vietnam War Era Veteran who served active-duty from 1972 to 1977 with the Transportation Groups in Germany. Trained in heavy vehicle driving, he supported the supply and maintenance needs of the Vietnam War as a Motor Transportation Operator. In 1980, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves, committing an additional 15 years to serving his country before being honorably discharged. I was honored to present Sergeant Anderson with a replacement Good Conduct Medal for his honorable and faithful service, and the National Defense Service Medal for special recognition of his active military service, among other awards for his accomplished service.

James from Harrison County contacted my office for assistance with correcting his DD-214 to accurately reflect the military medals he received during service. James is a Veteran of the Gulf War. As a result of an inquiry from my office to the National Personnel Records Center, James received a DD-215 listing his Southwest Asia Service Medal with two bronze service stars and his Kuwaiti Liberation Medal.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance with a state or federal agency, please contact my office at 304-342-5855.
