MANCHIN, ROMNEY, WARNER, BRAUN INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN RESILIENCE ACT

“This past July, our national debt exceeded $35 trillion for the first time in history. Make no mistake – this is the greatest threat America is facing. I’m proud to introduce the RESILIENCE Act with my bipartisan colleagues to establish these critical, comprehensive annual examinations of our nation’s finances, which will better inform Congress and the American public on the most effective solutions for getting our fiscal house back in order. Every West Virginian and American is personally responsible for managing the debts they incur and the federal government must be held to the same standard for the sake of our children, grandchildren and the American Dream.”

Senator Manchin's Service Academy applications are now closed.

All Congressional Representatives are authorized by law to nominate a limited number of candidates per year for appointment to U.S. Service Academies. These schools include the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Gary, from Harrison County, contacted my office for assistance with his overpayment with the Social Security Administration. Gary had previously resolved his overpayment issue a couple of months ago, but found that he was charged the overpayment again. As a result of my inquiry with the agency, Gary’s overpayment was waived, and he was reimbursed.

STUDENT LOANS -  Many individuals with jobs in health, teaching and public service professions as well as military service members may be eligible to participate in student loan forgiveness and repayment programs. These Congressionally authorized programs aim to attract borrowers to public service and highly needed professions. A list of programs is available here.
