MANCHIN STATEMENT ON ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF HAMAS’ ATTACK ON ISRAEL

"The attack we saw against Israel on October 7, 2023 was a horrific act of violence carried out by a terrorist organization with the deliberate goal of killing innocent civilians. One year later, Israel’s resolve remains steadfast in defending their homeland, as does America’s commitment to supporting them. On the anniversary of the bloodiest day in Jewish history since the end of the Holocaust, Gayle and I join all West Virginians in praying for our Jewish friends and neighbors as they continue to mourn the loss of loved ones. We continue to stand with the families still working to free their loves ones from Hamas, and we will never give up until all remaining hostages are safely home."

UPDATED PASSPORT PROCESSING TIMES

Passport processing times have been reduced to 4-6 weeks for routine service. This applies to both paper and online passport applications. Now is a great time to apply or renew. Learn more at travel.state.gov/passport.

Residents in several West Virginia counties affected by storms related to Hurricane Helene now have additional time to apply for assistance after losing food purchased with SNAP benefits due to the disaster.

Applications may be submitted until close of business on October 28, 2024. For more information about eligibility or to request an application, residents can contact their local Department of Human Services (DoHS) county office or call the Office of Constituent Services’ Customer Services Hotline at 1-877-716-1212.

With the help of my staff, I was honored to lend my support for several events in the state: recognition presented to WV Broadcasting Hall of Fame 2024 inductees Woody Woods (pictured), Jeff Jenkins, Kathy Brown and Scott Nolte; Manufacturing Day at Merco Marine in Wellsburg.

Mr. Robert from Keyser contacted my office for assistance with the Internal Revenue Service. He had filed for his 2022 tax return but had yet to receive it. He attempted to reach out for updates regarding his return with no response. As a result of my inquiry to the Internal Revenue Service, Robert's tax return was promptly processed and released to him.

STUDENT LOANS -  Many individuals with jobs in health, teaching and public service professions as well as military service members may be eligible to participate in student loan forgiveness and repayment programs. US Service Academy interviews will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
