The Murkowski Memo: Infrastructure Grant Symposium

Dear Alaskan,

From the Denali Park Road and Moose Creek Dam, to Coast Guard projects in Alaska, legacy well clean-up, and more—we’re seeing a growing list of funding from the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) for projects that will help transform communities across Alaska, with over $1.2 billion in funds announced to date.

While these major IIJA funding announcements are welcomed news, Alaskans still have ample opportunities to receive support from this historic bill. To help Alaskans better navigate the process of applying for federal grants, I look forward to welcoming Alaskans to the Infrastructure Grant Symposium I’m hosting at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage on Monday, April 11. For those who may not be able to attend in person, a reminder that we will be making the recorded video available at a later date, and offering a Zoom registration for virtual participation.

I’ve heard directly from Alaskans who are just as excited as I am about what this funding will mean for our state, but I also recognize that the process of navigating and applying for support can be daunting. I hope the Symposium will answer any questions you may have—so we can all work together to bring home as much support as possible to Alaskans.
