Social Security is on the path to becoming insolvent by 2034, at which point benefits will automatically be cut for millions of Americans. This isn't what anybody wants! The bipartisan TRUST Act, legislation which Senator Romney introduced, is a serious solution that both sides can agree on.
The TRUST Act was front and center at a Budget Committee hearing as the only viable solution out there to saving Social Security. Romney’s bipartisan and bicameral legislation creates a process to rescue the Social Security Trust Fund and other endangered federal trust funds from impending insolvency—while reining in the national debt. Unlike partisan, unserious proposals, like that from Senator Bernie Sanders’, the TRUST Act actually has a shot at becoming law.
The Office of Senator Romney released a report detailing the policy and constituent service accomplishments at the halfway mark of Romney’s Senate term. Major legislative highlights include the passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill, enactment of the Navajo Utah Water Rights Settlement Act, negotiation of the bipartisan COVID Relief Act of 2020, and passage of Romney’s amendment requiring the president to create a comprehensive strategy to confront China. The Romney team also assisted with more than 4,000 constituent casework claims, responded to more than 800,000 pieces of constituent mail, and met with thousands of Utahns.

Utah's rapidly growing economy presents both opportunities and challenges for our communities. Senator Romney met with Mayor Monica Zoltanski—who was recently elected as the first female mayor of Sandy—to discuss how the bipartisan infrastructure law can support the city's transportation plans.
Long-term care centers provide essential care for Utah's elderly and disabled citizens—playing a key role in the health and wellbeing of thousands of Utahns. Senator Romney met with leaders from the Utah Health Care Association for a discussion on improving workforce shortages and the quality of care for residents of Utah's long term-care and rehabilitation facilities.
Many students across our state attend public charter schools because they benefit from unique learning environments. Senator Romney met with a group of St. George Academy students from Washington County. They have quite the unique mascot—go Dragonslayers!
To this day, Utah Honor Flight has provided 2,000 veterans from Utah with trips to their monuments in Washington, D.C. Senator Romney’s staff had the special honor of meeting and expressing thanks to a group of veterans from Utah and across the country during their honor flight trip this week.
