Vermonters: Join Me THIS LABOR DAY WEEKEND for Town Meetings Across the State

This Labor Day Weekend, I’m holding town meetings in Springfield, Newport, St. Johnsbury, Brattleboro, and Middlebury. I hope you can join me to discuss the historic $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill I am currently working on. If passed, I truly believe it will be the most consequential piece of legislation for working people, the elderly, the children, the sick and the poor since FDR and the New Deal of the 1930s.

Come hear details of the bill and how it will improve your life — including efforts to address climate change, the expansion of the child tax credit, the investments in child care, the paid family leave provision, the expansion of Medicare, and the free community college proposal.

When I say this bill is unprecedented, I mean it. It will address many, many long-neglected structural problems in our country and will be transformative for millions of people. 

With a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work, Congress will be voting on — and passing — this consequential piece of legislation in the next four to five weeks. As your Senator, it’s extremely important that I hear from you so I can make sure the federal government is working for you. These town meetings across the state will be a great opportunity to come together to talk about the pressing issues we face as a country, while enjoying live music and food!
