Dear Fellow Vermonter,
Last year, I asked you to submit ideas and proposals to my office for projects that would improve our communities and address long-neglected needs of Vermonters. I have good news: thanks to those submissions, covering a wide range of issues, we were able to secure over $38 million in funding for Vermont communities. This federal appropriations bill is expected to pass Congress and be signed into law by the end of the week.
From child care and sustainable energy, to health care, dental care, wastewater infrastructure, housing, education, and services for veterans’ and military personnel, I believe these projects will be enormously helpful for our state. I would like to highlight just a few of them:
- a new child care center in Alburgh and additional slots throughout the state;
- increasing access to quality, affordable dental care, including new dental clinics in Vermont schools;
- enabling more Vermont small businesses to transition to employee ownership;
- sustainable energy projects for Vermont schools and public buildings;
- building new units and improving existing units of affordable housing for working Vermonters;
- funding for the Vermont National Guard to build a new, family center facility to serve Guard members, retirees, veterans and their families at Camp Johnson;
- establishing the first-of-its-kind program to provide a tuition-free community college education and career training at all six of Vermont’s correctional facilities for both incarcerated individuals and correctional officers.

Know that while we are celebrating securing funding in this appropriations bill, we are also preparing for next year’s bill. You can find information below on how to submit project ideas to my office.
In these difficult times, these projects will improve life for many Vermonters. I want to thank all of you who helped make them possible.
Thanks,
