TOMORROW: Join Me for a LIVE Town Hall with Teachers

Dear Fellow Vermonter,

I hope you will tune in TOMORROW, February 13, for a livestreamed town hall entitled “Respecting Our Teachers: A Town Hall on the Teacher Pay Crisis in America.” I will be joined LIVE in D.C. by Springfield’s Alison Sylvester. She has been a public school teacher for over 20 years and she was named the 2020 K-5 Teacher of the Year by the Vermont Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Teachers have one of the toughest, most demanding, and most under-appreciated and under-resourced jobs in America. And Covid-19 only made things harder. Recent studies show K-12 public school educators were the most likely to experience higher levels of anxiety, stress, and burnout during the pandemic. We must stand up and support them – and that begins with paying them as the professionals they are.

I hope you can join me tomorrow by watching live at twitter.com/SenSanders or facebook.com/SenatorSanders. And if you know an educator who might be interested in watching, please send this information to them.

See you Monday.

Sincerely,
